of the Peace in and for the said County this Eighth day
of February 1794
The said Thomas Walker< no role >
saith That the Prisoners under
Examination John Massey< no role >
has been his Servant
for two Years
and has been employed in bringing Soil at different times
from London
, for which he has uniformly charged this
informant ten shillings per load, which this informant paid
supposing that the Prisoner had actually paid that sum, until
about Christmas last.
The said Richard Archer< no role >
saith That he is Waggoner
to
Mr. Massey and has been employed under the Prisoner, that
the first time he drove the Waggon was to White Chapel
for
a Load of Soil for which he paid five shillings, that during the
Summer Season he generally went to Haggerstone
when the
Soil was [..] thick enough for which he always paid ten
shillings, and in the Writer time he generally went to
White Chapel
and always paid five shillings per load for
the Soil, that the last time he brought Soil from Town was
in the last week in September, from White Chapel
for which
he paid five shillijngs per Load
