Wood
< no role > the Younger Esq two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County one whereof is
of the Quorum, and both residing next unto Limits of
the Parish Church within the Parish of Sunbury
in the said County
made the Twentieth Day of August in the
Year of our Lord one thousand Seven
hundred & Ninety three
concerning a Female
Bastard Child, lately born in the Parish of Sunbury
aforesaid, of the Body of
Elizabeth Alsop< no role > Single Woman.

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint
of the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish if
Sunbury as upon the Oath of the said Elizabeth Alsop
that the the said Elizabeth Alsop on the Twenty Sixth Day of
January 1792 now last past;was delivered of a Female Bastard Child, at Sunbury
in the said County in the said
and that the said Female Bastard Child islikely to bechargeable
to the said Parish of Sunbury : and further, that John Barney< no role > now
residing at of Harlington Hatton in the said County Apothcary did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Elizabeth Alsop and Whereas
the said John Barney< no role > having been July summoned to appear before
us, hath not shewed to on any Sufficient and Cause why he shall not be
the respected Hatton of the said Bastard Child
We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as well
upon the Oath of the said Elizabeth Alsop as otherwise, do hereby
adjudge him the said John Barney< no role > to be the reputed Father of the said
Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do Order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of
Sunbury as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that the
said John Barney< no role > shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
parish of Sunbury or to some or one of them, the Sum of Seven Pounds
one shilling for and towards the Lying-in of the said Elizabeth Alsop< no role > and the Maintenance
of the said Bastard Child, to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further Order, that the said John Barney< no role > shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Sunbury for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
One Shilling & six [..] Weekly and every Week from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Sunbury

And we do further Order, that the said Elizabeth Alsop< no role > shall also pay,
or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Sunbury for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
One Shilling Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Sunbury in case the shall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.

Given under our Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
