Sheweth
That by a certain conviction under the Hand and Seal of

Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex
bearing date the Twentieth Day of August One Thousand
Seven hundred and ninety one made on the Information of one
Thomas sambidge< no role >
Your Petitioner was convicted (as therein
alledged ) for that your Petitioner then using and exercising the Trade
and Business of a Pawnbroker in his shop Vituste in Little Pultney Street in the
Parish of Saint James Westminster
in the County of Middlesex
on
the first Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and ninety one take and receive of and from one
Launcelot Knowles< no role >
by way of Pawn or Pledge a coat and did
then and there advance and lend thereon to the said Launcelot
Knowles a certain Sum of Money exceeding five Shillings (to
wit) the Sum of one Pound and one Shilling of Lawful Money of
Great Britain Yet that your Petitioner being such Pawnbroker
as aforesaid did not (as therein also alledged) forthwith and before
your Petitioner advanced and Lent the said Sum of Money upon
the aforesaid Pawn or Pledge enter and cause to be entered in

fair or regular manner in any Book or Books Kept by your
Petitioner for that Purpose a Description of the Said Coat Which
your Petitioner so received in Pawn or Pledge and also the
Sum of Money to be advanced and lent thereon with the Day
of the Month and year and the Name and Place of abode
of the Person by whom the Same was so pawned or pledged
