MIDDLESEX .

AT the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our
Lord the King, holden in and for the County of Middlesex , at
the Session-House for the said County, ()
on Monday the Eighteenth Day of July in the
Thirty firstYear of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
GEORGE the Third, King of Great Britain, &c. Before William
Mainwaring

Esquires , and others their Fellows, Justices of our said Lord the
King, assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid; and
also to hear and determine divers Felonies, Trespasses, and other
Misdemeanours committed in the same County

Whereas Robert Holmes< no role > of the Parish of Hanworth in the County of Middlesex
Hath at this present Session Exhibited his Petition and Appeal setting forth That by a
Rate made for the Relief of the poor of the Parish of Feltham in the County of Middlesex
bearing date the Eleventh day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety certain
pieces and parcel of Meadow and Arable Land and Premises situate in the said
Parish in the Occupation of the Petitioner had been Assessed and Rated at the Sum of
Five Pounds and Seventeen Shillings from the first day of May aforesaid to the end of
Sixteen Weeks thence next ensuing to be gathered out of the said Parish in the proportion
of Twelve pence in the Pound whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggrieved and
apprehended that such Rate was excessive and that it ought not to have been more then
Five Pounds being One Shilling in the Pound on the Rent of such Land and Premises
and that such Rate was unequal irregular and contrary to Law Now upon hearing
the said Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respective Parties their Counsel and
Witnesses in and concerning the premises It is Ordered that the said Rate or
Assessment so far as concerns the said Robert Holmes< no role > for and in respect of the said
pieces and parcel of Meadow and Arable Land and Premises in the said Petition and
Appeal mentioned be altered and amended in relief of the said Robert Holmes< no role > by Rating
and Charging him in and by the said Rate or Assessment at the Sum of One Hundred
Pounds as and for the Yearly Rent of the said pieces and parcel of Meadow and
Arable land and Premises .
