The Examination of Thomas Batterson< no role > a Rouge and Vagabond
Apprehended by John Whitbread< no role > taken on Oath before me John Spiller< no role >
Esquire one of his Majestys Justice's of the Peace in and for
the said County this 14th day of March or the Year of
our Lord 1791

who on his Oath saith That he is of the Age of Sixty four
Year and was born in the Parish of Tottenham and
that he is of no Trade and gets his living by
Farmering life and Saith that the place of his
legal Settlement is in the Parish of Tottenham
in the said County by living as a hired Yearly Servant
for the Space of form Years With one

The Examination of the said John Whitbread< no role > Taken on oath
the day and year abovesaid

Who saith that the said Thomas Batterson< no role > is a Rouge and
Vagabond Within the Description of the Act of Parliament in
that can made and provided to wit in being found in the
enclosed Garden of the said John Whitbread< no role > situate at Edmonton
in the Said County with an Intent to steal certain Goods and
Chatters of the said John Whitbread< no role > not giving a good Account
of himself and further saith that the said thomas Batterson< no role >
doth not Follow or work at any lawfue Trade or Employment
and hath no Substances sufficient for his Support and Maintenance
