Whereas by an Act of Parliament made and passed in the Twenty sixth Year of the Reign of His Present
Majesty King George the Third entitled "An Act for requlating Houses and other place kept for the purpose of
Slaughtering House "It is amongst. other things Enacted That from and after the Twentieth day of July in the
Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Six no Person or Person shall keep or use any House or
place for the purpose of Slaughtering or killing any House, Mare, Gelding, Colt, Filley, Ass, Mute, Bull, Ox, Cow,
Helfer, Calf, Sheep, Hog, Goat or other Cattle which shall not be killed for Butchew Meat without first taking
out a Licence fo that purpose at the General Quarter Sessions held for the County Riding City Town District
Division or Liberty where in such Slaughtering House or place shall be situate and the Justices of the peace at the
General Quarter Sessions Assembled were there by authorized and Impowered to Grant such Licences as aforesaid
upon a Certificate under the hands and Seals of the Minister and Church wardens or Overseers or of the Minister
and two or more Substantial House holders of the Parish wherein the Person or Persons applying for such Licence shall
dwell that such Person or Persons is or are fit and proper to be trusted with the management and carrying on such
Business as aforesaid And Whereas by a Certificate bearing date the 14th. day of January 1791 under the
hands and Seals of R. D. Shackleford D. D. Vicar Thos. Richards< no role > Curate, Charles Eaton< no role > and David Spencer< no role >
Churchwardens of the Parish of Saint Sepulchre in the said County and other Inhabitants ofof the said parish
It is Certified to his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex that Nathaniel
Jennings
< no role > and Elizabeth Bosworth< no role > both of Sharps Alley Cow Cross Street in the said County of
Middlesex are fit and proper person to be Intrusted with the management and carrying on the business of
Slaughtering House and other Cattle as directed by the abovementioned Act Now at the General Quarter Session
of the Peace of our Lord the King hold in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session House for the said
County (by adjournment) on Friday the Fourteenth day of January in the Thirty first Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc. Before William Mainwaring< no role > Esquire Six Francis

keep the Peace in the County of Middlesex and also to hear and determine divers felonies Trespasses and other
Misdemeanors committed in the same County We whose names are hereunto subscribed being the major part of the
justices of the Peace for this County this Day at the said Session Assembled by Virtue of the Power and Authority
given to us by the said Act of Parliament Do Grant Licence to the above named Nathaniel Jennings< no role > and
Elizabeth Bosworth< no role > of Sharps Alley Cow Cross Street in the parish of Saint Sepulchre in the said County to keep or
use the House or Place Occupied by her the said Elizabeth Bosworth< no role > in Sharps Alley Cow Cross Street aforesaid
for the purpose of Slaughtering or killing Horses, Mares, Geldings, Colp, Fillies, Asses, Mules, Bulls,Oxen, Cows, Heisers
sheep, Kogs, Goab, or other Cattle pursuant to the said Act of Parliament Given under our Hands the 14th.
day of January 1791.
