July Session 1789 in and for the
County of Middlesex

John Miles< no role > of Old Street in the Parish of Saint Luke in the
County of Middlesex Clerk to the Vestrymen of the said Parish Maketh
Oath and Saith that One Catherine Holland< no role > of the said Parish of Saint
Luke in the said County Singlewoman on the Twenty third day of June
last past was Sworn to a certain Voluntary Examination in Writing
taken on Oath before Charles Triquet< no role > Esquire One of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Middlesex Whereby
the said Catherine Holland< no role > on her said Oath did declare that she
was then with Child and that the said Child or Children was or were
likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards And to be Chargeable to the
said Parish of Saint Luke And the said Catherine Holland< no role > did Charge
One Thomas Sullivan< no role > of Rotherhithe in the County of Surry Labourer
with having gotter the said Child or Children or her Body with
which she was then Pregnant And this Deponent Saith that upon
the said Catherine Hollands said Examination the said Charles
Triquet did at the request of the Overseers of the said Parish of
Saint Luke Issue his Warrant for the Apprehending the said Thomas
Sullivan
< no role > in Order to find Security to indemnify the said Parish or
else to find Security for his Personal Appearance at the next General
Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden in and for the said County
and abide and Perform such Order or Orders as should be then and
there made in the Premises And this Deponent Saith that the
said Thomas Sullivan< no role > was in Pursuance of and by Virtue of the said
Warrant Apprehended and taken into Custody thereon and for Want of
Sureties was Committed to the Custody of the Goaler a Keeper of
his Majestys Goal of New Prison or Clerkenwell Bridewell where
he now is and remains a Prisoner upon the said Chargd of Bastardy
And Lastly this Deponent Saith that the said Catherine Holland< no role >
is not Yet delivered of the said Child or Children so Charged to the
said Thomas Sullivan< no role > as the Putative Father so that as Order of
Filiation has or can regularly be made upon the said Thomas Sullivan< no role >
on the said Charge of Bastardy.
