Robert Hughes< no role > of Watling Street London Gentleman Vestry Clerk to
the parish of Saint Mary Aldermary London and Thomas Williams< no role > of the Same
Place Clerk to the said Mr. Hughes severally make Oath as follows And first
the said Robert Hughes< no role > for himself on his said Oath saith That the Parish
of saint him Westminster from Caused a Notice to be Served for the producing of
the said Pryce Devereux Prosser< no role > one of the paupers by that parish moved of
the said parish of Saint Mary Aldermary on the hearing of this Appeal and
that he the said pryce Devereun Prossor< no role > has left his said Wife and Family
Chargeable to the said parish of Saint Mary Aldermary and is gone to Barnstaple in
Devenshire from which place this Deponent hath Used his Utmost and cavours to
get the said proper deserence proper up hereto attend and be examined on the
said Appeal but hitherto without Effect And in partriular this Deponent
Obtained a Subpana out of the Crown office for the said Pryce Devereux
Prosser< no role > to appear here on Monday last and give his Evidence for that
Purpose And also obtained a Warrant under the hand and Seal of the Right
Honourable Thomas Wright< no role > Esquire Lord Mayor of the City of London against the
said Pryce Devereux Prosser< no role > for Running away and deserting his Wife and
Children and leaving them Chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Mary
Aldermary And this Deponent on or about the tenth day of February
instant Sent one Webb a Constable with the said Subpana from hence
to Serve on the said Pryce Devereux Prosser< no role > at Barnstaple aforesaid And in
Case of his refusing to obey the same and come Willing by with him
here Then the said Webb was instructed by this Deponent to Execute the
said Warrant on him and bring him here by free unless he entered into
a Recognizance with Sufficient Sureties to appear here and Answer the
said Complaint And this Deponent further Saith that he hath been
informed by Letter from the said Pryce Devereux prosser< no role > Dated Thursday
the 16th. of February instant (and which information he believes to be true)
