Humbly Sheweth
That by an Order of Adjudication bearing date the 5th. day
of November 1785 and made by Wm. Blackborow< no role >
& Thos. Cogan< no role >
Esqr

Two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middx
Your Appellant was thereby as well on the Complaint of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
James Clerkenwell
in the said County As upon the Oath of
Elizabeth Doweitt< no role >
Adjudged to be the reputed Father
of a Female
Bastard Child Baptized by the name of Elizabeth of which she was
delivered on the 26th day of May then preceding, And was
Ordered to pay the Church wardens and Overseers of the poor
of the said Parish the Sum of £3,,15,,0 for and towards the
lying in of the said Elizabeth Doweitt< no role >
and the Maintenance of
the said Bastard Child to the time of making said Order, And
Also the further Sum of Three Shillings and Six pence Weekly
So long as the said Child shall Continue Chargeable to the said
Parish, As by the said Order doth more fully Appear,
Your Appellant Conceiving himself
Aggrieved by such Adjudication humbly
Appeals therefrom and Prays a day may
be Appointed for the hearing and determining
thereof.
