To the Worshipful his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex in their General Session of the Peace at the New
Session House Clerkenwell Green Assembled

The humble Petition and Appeal of the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Saint Paul
Covent Garden within the City and Liberty of Westminster
in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth


That by Virtue of a pass Warrant or Order under the hands
and Seals of James Croft< no role > and Wm. Gascoign< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace Acting in and for the County of Middlesex aforesaid
(One whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Sixteenth day of August
one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Elizabeth Athey< no role > the Wife
of Pearce Athey < no role > with her three Children namly Susan< no role > Aged Eleven
years Frances< no role > aged Eight years and William< no role > aged seven years were
removed from the parish of Saint Clement Danes in the said County
to the said parish of Saint Paul Covent Garden as the place of their
last legal Settlement Whereby your Petitioners think themselves
aggreived and do appeal to this Court against the same

Your Petitioners therefore pray this Court will be
pleased to Appoint a Day in this present Sessions for
the hearing and determining the said Appeal And
that all Persons concerned may be then divided
to Attend

And your Petitioners shall pray Etc
