WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two of
His Majesty's Justices of the Peace , in and for the
County of MIDDLESEX , (one whereof being of the
Quorum) by the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the Parish of ST. LUKE , in the said County, That John
Montague

lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to settle there,
contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the said Justices,
and we do adjudge that he is likely to become charge-
able to the said Parish; and upon Examination of Francis
Southcote
< no role > taken upon Oath,
it further appeareth unto us, and we do likewise adjudge, that
the Parish of St. James Westminster in the
County of Middlesex
is the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said John
Montague

These are therefore in His Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command you the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of ST. LUKE , forthwith to remove and convey
the said John Montague< no role >

from the said Parish of ST. LUKE , to the parish of
St. James Westminster and deliver him to the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some
or one of them, who are hereby required to provide for him
according to Law. GIVEN under our Hands and Seals, the
Second Day of May 178 5

To the Church-Wardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the respective Parishes
of ST. LUKE, in the County of MID -
DLESEX, and St. James in the City &
Liberty of Westminster in the

and to all other Officers whom it may
