On the prosecution of
Tobias Vickers< no role > for an
Assault

Middlesex ss


Miles Edward Wilkes< no role > of Mile-End Green in the
County of Middlesex Gentleman maketh Oath and Saith
that some time in or about the Month of October in the Year 1783
this Deponent (together with one William Blizard< no role > then of Lime Street
in the City of London Surgeon ) became bound & Entered into
Recognizance before Tryon Cotton< no role > Esquire One of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said County for the Appearance of
the said Thomas Coats< no role > at the then next Session of the peace to
be holden for the said County to Answer the Complaint of the said
Tobias for the offence aforesaid And this Deponent further
Saith That the said Thomas Coats< no role > afterwards, and before
the then next Session paid to the said Tobias Vickers< no role > the Sum
of Ten Guineas in full satisfaction of the Damage by him
Sustained by the Assault aforesaid which this Deponent
as also the said William Blizard< no role > conceiving fully had put an
end to such prosecution this Deponent and the said William
[..] Blizard
< no role > did not cause any Release to be given by the
said Prosecutor to the said Thomas Coats< no role > or make known to this
honorable Court the aforesaid Compromise this Deponent
being ignorant of law matters, not knowing the necessity
thereof & Conceiving himself fully exonerated by the aforesaid Compromise
