To the Worshipful His Majestys Justices of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex .

The Humble Petition of William Barker< no role >
of King Street Bloomsbury Hair Dresser .

Sheweth.


That your Petitioner was on the 21st day of
May Instant Compelled (under a Threat of being Committed)
byCole Esquire Steward of the Leet, to be sworn
into the office of Constable , for the Parish of Saint
Giles in the Fields .

That Your Petitioner humbly conceives he
had no Right to be sworn into such Office; for the
Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields . By reason of
his being a Resident in the Parish of Saint George
Bloomsbury , And also by reason of his having
in the Year 1783 Paid a Fine to the Steward of the
Leet for the said Parish to be Excused serving
such Office.

Your Petitioner therefore Prays Your
Worships to Grant him some Relief in the
Promises; And that Your Worships
will be pleased to Permit him to provide
a proper person living in the said Parish
of Saint Giles in the Fields , to be Sworn
into such Office; as a Substitute in the
Room of your Petitioner:

And Your Petitioner will
Ever pray Etc.
