David Jones< no role > of West Street in the Parish of Saint Giles
in the Fields in the County of Middlesex Shopman to Henry
Thwaites
< no role > of the same place Sinnen Draper and Sarah Keys< no role >
of Hungerford Market In the Parish of Saint Martin in the
Fields in the said County of Middlesex Spinster severally make
Oath and say And first this Deponent David Jones< no role > for himself
saith that on the Seventeenth day of January last Margaret
Wilkinson
< no role > was detected in Stealing two Sinnen handkerchiefs
out of the shop of the said Henry Thwaites< no role > and was taken before
the Magistrates at the Rotation office in Sitchfield Street where
this Deponent together with the other Deponent and one William
Crompton
< no role > were severally bound in recognizance to appear and
prosecute the said Margaret Wilkinson< no role > And this Deponent
David Jones< no role > further saith that he undertook to give the said
Sarah Keys< no role > and William Crompton< no role > Notice when they were to attend
to prosecute the said Margaret Wilkinson< no role > and in order for that
purpose he the said David Jones< no role > called at the Office in Sitchfield
Street sometime about a Week before last February Sessions to
Know what time he was to attend in order to prefer a Bill and to
give Sarah Keys< no role > and William Crompton< no role > timely Notice but was
then told by one of the Runners and a Clerk in the office neither
of whose Names are known to this Deponent that Margaret Wilkinson< no role >
in her way to Prison had made her Escape from the officer
therefore this Deponent not knowing the consequence thought the
Business was all over and that he had no Occasion to attend
therefore he did not give the other Deponent or the said William
Crompton
< no role > Notice And this Deponent further saith since he received
a Letter from the Clerk of the Peace he hath made all the inquires
in his power after the said William Crompton< no role > but hath not been
able to find him And this Deponent Sarah Keys< no role > for herself
saith she was ready and would have attended to have prosecuted
the said Margaret Wilkinson< no role > had she been called upon for
that purpose.
