When the Committer from the city not Mr. Bishop
at Clerkenwell Bridewell to examine the Prison, they
found it a very improper plan to confirm Debtors in,
but not coming to any resolution at that him how
they could dispose of them, the Keeper thought it
his duty to inform the Sheriffs that the Guard was
not to be continued any longer at the Expense of
the County, and likewise, that he could not be
Answerable for Keeping the Debtors Safe without,
they desired Mr. Bisshopp would get [..] it continued
for two or three days, until the could come to some
determination which he granted and Sent for
the Serjeant and gave Orders for that purpose,
