Guildhall London 18 Sept.1781.

Sir

Having received notice from the Secretary at War "that in
Confirmity to the Directions given to the Secretary at War by the
8th. of Geo. 2d. Chap. 30 with cup of to the absence of Troops
from places where Elections are held, he has been under the
necessity of Spiring Orders for Mr Drawing the parties on Duly at the
New Prison & Bridewell , Clerkenwell , one day at the least previous
to the ensuing Election for the City of London ", we are to acquaint
you, What we have this day proclaimed the Writ, and appointed
to proceed to the said Election or Saturday next the 22d. instant
in order that you may, in dare time, provide proper Guards
for the said Prison and Bridewell, previous to, and during
the said Election.
