WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the
Quorum), by the Church-wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Paddington
in the said County, That a Female Child not yet
baptized born of the body of Mary Evans< no role > in or
about the Month of June which was in the year
One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight
hath lately been left in the said Parish with intend
to be settled
[..]
there, contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the
said Justices, and we do adjudge that the said Child is likely
to become chargeable to the said Parish; and upon Exa-
mination of the Premises taken upon Oath, and other Cir-
cumstances, it further appeareth unto us, and we do like-
wise adjudge, that the Parish of Saint George Hanover
Square in the said County
is the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said Female Child.

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Paddington
forthwith to remove and convey the said Female Child

from the said Parish of Paddington
to the said Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
and deliver her to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, who are
hereby required to provide for her according to Law.
Given under our Hands and Seals the 5th Day
of November 17 79.

To the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the respective Parishes of
Paddington
in the County of Middlesex , and Saint
George Hanover Square in the said
County
and to all other Officers whom it may
concern.
