Middlesex


We whose hands and Seals are hereunto Set Two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace in and for the County of
Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum) Inhabitting in or next unto the limits of the parish Church of the Parish of [..] Hornsey in
the County of Middlesex having Met together and heard the Complaint of the Overseers of the poor of the parish
of Hornsey in the said County concerning a Male Bastard Child Born in the parish of Hornsey aforesaid on
the Body of Rebecca Brace< no role > This name instance is in set 2122. Widow on the Fifth day of February last since Baptized Joseph < no role >
which is become chargeable to the said parish of Hornsey and is so likely to continue Do upon the Examination
of the said Rebecca Brace taken upon oath find and Adjudge the said Complaint to be true And We de also find upon the
Oath of the said Rebecca Brace that Joseph Harvey< no role > This name instance is in set 2121. late of the parish of Hornsey aforesaid Gentleman did beget on the Body of the said Rebecca Brace the said
Male Bastard Child And Whereas we have Sommoned the said Joseph Harvey< no role > to appear before us this day
to answer the said Complaint and Shew cause why be should not be adjudged the Putative Father of the said
Male Bastard Child And the said Joseph Harvey< no role > having Appeared before us but not shewing any Cause to the
ContraryWe the said Justices do upon the Examination upon Oath of the said Rebeca Brace and other
Circumstances appearing to us Adjudge him the said Joseph Harvey< no role > to be the putative Father of the said Male Bastard
Child And do order and appoint him forthwith upon Notice of this our order to pay or cause to be paid to the said
Overseers of the poor or to some or one of them the Sum of Twelve pounds Eight Shillings & Six Pence of lawful Money of
Great Britain already by them Expended on account of the Lying in of the said Rebecca Brace and also for the Relief
and Maintenance of the said Male Bastard Child and other Expences Attending the same And also on account of the costs
and charges the said parish hath been put to and Sustained in Apprehending and committing to Prison the said Joseph
Harvey
< no role > And in causing the Recognizane which he Entered into with Sureties for his Appearance at the Sessions to
be continued from time to time untill the said Rebecca Brace was delivered of such Bastard Child And an order
made as well for the Relief of such Child as as for the Relief of the said parish of Hornsey And Also that be the said Joseph Harvey< no role >
do and shall weekly and every Week from henceforth pay or cause to be paid to the said Overseers of the poor of the
parish of Hornsey aforesaid or to some or one o them the Sum of Three Shillingsof like lawful Money
for and towards the Relief and Maintenance of the said Male Bastard Child for to long time as the same shall
Remain chargeable to the said parish of Hornsey And We do Order the said Rebecca Brace weekly and every week to pay or Cause to be paid to the said Overseers of the Poor The Sum of Two Pence for [..] Releif & Maintenance such Child for see out time as the same shall remain chageable to the said parish [..] Given under our Hands and Seals this 12th Day of March
