Middlesex to wit


We whose Hands and Seals are hereunto Set Two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County
of Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum) and Inhabiting in or next unto the Limits of the parish of Saint
Sepulture in the County of Middlesex having met together and heard the Complaint of the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the said parish concerning a Male Bastard Child born in the said parish on the Body of
Eleanor Charlotta< no role > on the 26th day of June 1768. which is Baptized by the Name of John and hath become Chargeable
to the said parish and is so likely to continue Do find upon Examination of the said Eleanor Charlotta< no role > taken before
Us upon Oath that one Thomas South< no role > all of the parish of Saint Clement Danes in the said County of Middlesex
Jacksmith did begat on the Body of her the said Eleanor Charlotta< no role > the said Male Bastard Child Therefore we
the said Justices did cause the said Thomas Southall< no role > to be Summoned to appear before us this day to shew Cause
why he should not be adjudged the putative Father of the said Male Bastard Child who appearing and not
Shewing any Cause to the Contrary We the said Justices do upon Examination of the said Eleanor Charlotta< no role > and
other Circumstances Adjudge him the said Thomas Southall< no role > to be the putative Father of the said Male Bastard
Child and that the said Male Bastard Child was born in the said parish of Saint Sepulchre and is became
Chargeable thereto And do Order and Appoint him the said Thomas Southall< no role > forthwith upon Notice of this Our
Order to pay to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said parish of Saint Sepulchre or to some or one of them the
Sum of Two Pounds Three Shillings of lawful Money of Great Britain by them already Expended for the
Relief of the said Male Bastard Child as also he the said Thomas Southall< no role > shall weekly and every week form
the 27th day of April last past payor cause to be paid to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of Saint Sepulchre for the time being or to some or one of them the Sum of Three Shillings of like lawful Money
for and towards the Relief and Maintanance of the said Bastard Child for so longtime as the said Bastard Child
all remain Chargeable to the said parish And We do further Order that the said Eleanor charlotta< no role > shall also
pay or cause to be paid to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Saint Sepulture for the
time being or to to some or one of them the Sum of Two pence weekly and every week so long as the said Bastard
Child shall be Chargeable to the said parish of Saint Sepulchre in case she shall not Nurse and take Care of the said
Bastard Child herself Given under Our Hands and Seals the Twentyeighthday of April 1769
