Whereas Jane Wood< no role > Singlewoman hath been lately taken wandring
as a Vagrant in the Parish of Fryan Barnett in the County of
Middlesex and brought before me one of Her Maties. Justices of
the Peace for the County aforesaid; And in Pursuance of an Act
of Parliament made in the eleventh & twelfth year of the
Reign of His late Majesty King William the Third Entituled an
Act for the more Effectual Punishing of Vagrants and Sending
them whither by Law they ought to be Sent I have carefully
& diligently examined the Said Jane Wood< no role > & upon Her examina [..]
taken upon Oath it appeareth unto me that about four
years Since She became a hired Servant by the year to one
John Mason< no role > Inhabiting in the parish of St. Mary Islington in
the Said County wth whom She lived one whole year & upwards
& reced of him thirty Shillings P Annu wages; And I do not
find that Since the Said Jane Wood< no role > came from & out of
the Service of the Said John Mason< no role > She hath gained any Settlement
elsewhere These are therefore to will & require & in Her
Maties name to Charge & Comand you forthwith to remove
& convey the Said Jane Wood< no role > from the Said Parish of
Fryan Barnett to the Said Parish of St. Mary Islington &
deliver Her to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor
there or to Some or one of them who are hereby required to
receive her into their care & to provide for Her According
to Law Given under my Hand & Seals the 18th. day of
December Anno Dom 1707

To the Constables and Head boroughs of
the Parish of Fryan Barnett in the
County aforesaid and to all other Officers
whom it may concern
