The Information of Andrew [..] whritt of ye parish of St. Sepulcher in ye
County of Middx Cordwainer taken upon Oath before me Joseph Short< no role >
Esqr : One of her Maties Justices of ye peace for ye sd County

This Informt. Saith That abt. one of ye Clerk in ye Morning of the Second day
of June instant, this Informt. (who is a Watchman in ye sd parish of St. Sepulcher )
being at his Stand in Cow Cross in ye sd Parish saw a Light through ye Window
over ye dore of ye house of One Mr. Arthur Davis< no role > where upon this Informt
going to ye sd Window Saw a Light [..] in ye Kitchen, & calling out ask who
was there, & was answered, ye said. That then this Informt; looking through ye
Key hole of ye sd Dore, Saw a man wth a Candle in his hand going up Stairs, &
this Informt: called out to him, tilling him here did not belong to ye Family, &
that none but such who did were ever there at such times: whereupon ye sd
Man upon ye Stairs answer'd It is I Mr:Nlipwhritt, & turning abt: this Dept:
Saw his face & verily believed the sd pson to be John Whittingham< no role > who is
now Shown to this Informt; That immediatly this Informt: call'd out there is, &
getting Assistance went to ye Bark dore of ye yard of [..] sd Mr. Davis's house wth they
form'd open & then found ye Backdore of ye sd House open, & the Glass of the
Kitchen window break, & ye Shutter taken out That then this Informt:
& his sd assitance went in Search of ye Theives, & found ye sd John
Whittingham< no role > hid under [..] Tobacco: Cutting Clock (as this Informt:
believe is to be in a yard of house two or three dores beyond ye sd Mr. Davis
his yard
