taken Upon Oath the 17th of October 1706
who Sayes that on Sunday Night about ten of the Clock he heard fire
Cryed out whereupon this Examinant arose & sent on his C [..]
& were to Lyons Inne
where the fire was& went up to the Chamber
where the fire was & when he came there he found Severall peopletherein the Chamber
& Some after this deponent perceiving light in a Little bed Room the
examinant Unlocked the Dore & on a Little bed therein he found [..]
Candle burning in a [..] Candlestick [..] neare the head board of the
bed & had burnt the said head board wth this examinant tooke from
thence & found likewise the lacking of the beadttead burnt in two
Severall places whereupon this examinant threw some water thereon
wch put out the fire

Study where the fire was and is positive the Dore of the Study was
open when this Examinant came first into the Chamber that he
found the Chamber & Study full of Smooke wch almost Chocked him
that he pulled out the Drawer from under the Deske in the Study &
that the first dancer he pulled out was on fire [..] & [..]
of the paper there burnt & as was likewise the Drawer & the [..]
Drawer was flameng. whereupon this Examinant the [..]
on the fire & put it out that Severall other drawer & be [..]
were likewise burnt
