Pursuant to an Order made at the Genrall Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden
Hicks Hall in St John street in and for the County of Middlesex on [..]
day of July in the Fifth year of the Reign of Her present Matie: [..]
Her Maties: Justices of the Peace for the said County to whom it was [..]
conveene before us the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of [..]
Finchley in the said County for the Two years last past and to inspect
their accounts touching the Rates made for the Releif of the Poor
Parish, Haveing mett & perused & examined the accounts of the [..]
Disbursments of Humphrey Newman< no role > Overseer of the Poor of the said
Year One thousand seven hundred and four, Do find the same to be afair
just account and ought to be Ingrossed in the Parish Booke as usuall, And
have also perused an examined the accounts of the receipts and disbursments
Henry Howe< no role > Overseer of the Poor there in the Year One thousand seven hundred
and five wherein wee observe about Fifty one pounds expended for Low charge
which Wee conceive (according to the strict rules of Law) ought not to be allowed
out of the monies collected and gathered for the releif of the Poor there
But to make the Parishoners in the said Parish easy and in Order to [..]
diference and disputes between them, Wee Doe Order that the Sume of
Six pounds part of the said Sume of Fifty one pounds be allowed [..]
the charge of the said Law Suit, And that John Williams< no role > the [..]
Churchwarden of the said Parish Do forthwith pay unto the said Henry [..]
the Sume of Fifteen pounds residue of the said Sume of Fifty one [..]
to reimburse him the extraordinary charge that he was put to by [..]
unreasonable prosecution for part of the said Sume of Fifty one pounds [..]
then remaining in his hands which money then remaining in the hands
he was continued by sevall of the Parishoners not to pay and for which [..]
he had unadvisedly before gave bond and judgment Given under one
Hands and Seals the Sixth day of July Anno Diu 1706
