MIDDLESEX .


At the GeneralSession of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , at Hicks=Hall, in Saint John=Street,
(by adjournment) on Thursday the Fourth
Day of Junein the Eighteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc. Before Sir John Hawkins< no role > Knight The
Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet John Barnfather< no role > David Wilmot< no role >
Esquires , and others their Fellows, Justices of our said Lord the King
assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid; and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanores committed
in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
Olave in Southwark in the County of Surry Did at the last General Quarter Session
of the peace held for this County Exhibit their petition and Appeal Setting forth That
by Virtue of an Order or Pass Warrant under the hands and Seals of David Walker< no role >
and Philip Dyot< no role > Esquires live of his Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the
County of Middlesex one whereof being of the Quorum bearing date the 1st. day of April
1778 Ann Brown< no role > wife of William Brown< no role > (gone from her) and her three Children by her
said Husband Vizt. William< no role > aged Seven Years and upwards Martha< no role > aged Five Years
and upwards and Louisa< no role > aged one Year and upwards were removed and conveyed from
and out of the parish of Saint Giles in the fields in the County of Middlesex to the Parish
of Saint Olave in Southwark in the County of Surry as the place of their last legal
Settlement whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggreved which said appeal stood duly adjourned unto this day Whereupon
the Churchwardens and Overseeris of the poor of the said parish of Saint Olave in
Southwark being solemnly called to support their said appeal but not appearing
It is Ordered that the said appeal be and the same is hereby dismissed
and the said Order or pass Warrant of the said two Justices is hereby Confirmed
And it is further Ordered that the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the poor of the parish of Saint Olave in Southwark do maintain and provide for
the said Ann Brown< no role > and her three Children until they can free themselves
from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law
