MIDDLESEX .


AT the General Quarter Session of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , at Hicks-Hall, in Saint John-Street ,
(by adjournment) on Thursday the Thirtieth
Day of April in the Eighteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc. Before Sir John Hawkins< no role > Knight
The Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet David Wilmot< no role > John
Barnfather
< no role > Esquires and others their fellows Justices of our said Lord
the King assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid and also
to hear and determine divers felonies Trespasses and other Misdeamon-
ours committed in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of
Chipping Barnet in the liberty of Saint Albun and County of Hertford Have
at this present Session Exhibited their petition and Appeal Setting forth That
Whereas by an Order under the hands and Seals of Richard Hassell< no role > and
Jacob Leroux< no role > Esqrs. two of his Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the
said County of Middlesex bearing date the first day of this instant April
John Chaplen< no role > with Mary< no role > his wife and their four Children Mary< no role > aged
upwards of Ten Years Charlotte< no role > upwards of Six Years Elizabeth near Three
Years and John< no role > upwards of Six months have been removed from the parish
of Monkin Hadley in the said County of Middlesex to our said parish of Chipping
Barnett as the place of their last lawfulll Settlement Whereby the petitioners
conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing the said appeal and
what hath been alledged by the respective Churchwardens and Overseers of
the poor of the said parishes their Counsel and Witnesses in and concerning
the premises It is Ordered that the said appeal be and the same is
hereby allowed and the said order of the said two Justices is hereby vacated
and set aside And it is further Ordered that the Church
wardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Chipping Barnet do forthwith
Convey and deliver back the said John Chaplen< no role > and Mary his wife and their
four Children (together with a Copy of this Order) unto the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Monkin Hadley who are hereby
required to receive and provide for the said John Chaplen Mary his wife and
their four Children until they can free themselves form the Charge thereof by
due Course of Law
