MIDDLESEX .


AT the GeneralSession of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , atHicks Hall, in Saint John Street,the Guild hall in King Street Westminster
(by adjournment) on Thursday - the Nineteenth
Day of February in the Eighteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc. Before Sir John Hawkins< no role > Knight
The Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet Sir John Fielding< no role >
Knight Thomas Parker< no role > Esquire and others their fellows Justices
of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the peace in the County
aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers felonies Trespasses
and other Misdemeanours committed in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish
of Saint Mary Whitechapel in the said County of Middlesex Have at
this present Session Exhibited their Petition and appeal Setting forth That
by virtue of a pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of John Spiller< no role >
and John Bosworth< no role > Eaquires two of his Majestys Justices of the peace acting for
the said County (one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Twentieth day of
January One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Eight James Murphy< no role > a
Bastard (born out of lawful Wedlock) and Elizabeth< no role > his wife were removed and
Conveyed from and out of the parish of Christ Church in the said County to the
said parish of Saint Mary Whitechapel as the place of the last legal Settlement
of the said James Murphy< no role > and Elizabeth his Wife whereby the petitioners
conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing the said Appeal and what
hath been alledged by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the respective
parishes their Counsel and Witnesses in and Concerning the premises It is a
Ordered that the said appeal be and the same is hereby dismissed and the said
pass Warrant or Order of the said two Justices is hereby confirmed And it is
Further Ordered that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of
the said parish of Saint Mary Whitechapel do maintain and provide for
the said James Murphy< no role > and Elizabeth his wife until they can free themselves from
the Charge thereof by due Course of Law
