put in Bail to the said Indictmt: so Preferred by the sd Mary
Hall
< no role > and did at the same time Plead to the sd: Indictmt: in
Order to Traverse the same at the next Janry Session's
Ensuing And this Defendt further Saith that he is not able
to Try his Traverse On the said Indictmt. this Present
Sessions On Acct. of Two [..] of his Material Witnesses being
Absent (Vizt) Sarah Downs< no role > who is Gone to Live in
Rochester in Kent but this Defendant could get no Information
of the same till Friday last being the Tenth day of January last
and Charles Smith< no role > who was a Journeyman to the said Defendt.
Robert Cornish< no role > but has left him for upwards of Two Months last
past And this Defendant further Saith that he has made
several Inquirys after the said Charles Smith< no role > but to No Purpose
And withoutOnwhose Testimony this Deft: Cannot safely Proceed
to Traverse the said Indictmt: as this is Deft Advised
