According to the present mode of raising the County
rate if £18,000 was charged upon the County [..]
to these present proportions Westmr would pay. £ [..]

If the like sum was charged upon the County by a rate
of three pence in the pound according to the poors rate of 1776
(which is supposed to be raised at 2 Shillings in the pound
upon an average) Westmr. would pay£6444.

The amount of the assessment to the poor in the County of
Middlesex in 1776 was£143371
And this is supposed to be raised at 2sl. in the pound
Wherefore a rate at 3d. in the pound would raise £17921
