to keep the peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine
divers felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanours committed in the
Same County.
Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Saint
Luke in the County of Middlesex
Did at the last General Quarter Session of the peace
held for this County Exhibit their petition and Appeal Setting forth That by virtue of
a pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of Parker Rowlands< no role >

Esqrs. two of his Majestys Justices of the peace
in and for the County of Middlesex
aforesaid (one whereof being of the quorum) bearing date the 13th. day of October 1777

(and her two Illegitimate Children namely
Ann Cooley< no role >
aged about four Years and Stephen Cooley< no role >
aged about Two Years and an
half removed with their mother for nurture) were removed and Conveyed from
and out of the parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate
in the County of Middlesex
to the said parish of Saint Luke
as the place of the last legal Settlement of the said
Elizabeth Profitt Whereby the petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Which said
Appeal Stood duly adjourned unto this day Whereupon the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the parish of Saint Luke being Solemnly called to Support their
said Appeal but not appearing It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and
the same is hereby dismissed and the said pass Warrant or Order of the said two
Justices is hereby Confirmed And it is further Ordered that the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Saint Luke do maintain
and provide for the said Elizabeth Profitt and her said two Illegitimate Children
until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law
