Penleaze, and the Rest were Assistants, and Saith that
without saying anything, they broke the Pannel of the
Kitchen Door to pieces, and then Entred the Kitchen
and Violently Seized [..] hold of this Deponent, and one of
them presented a Pistol, to this Deponents Breast
and vowed or Swore he would Shoot this Deponent, if
he did not go with them, and another Struck him with
a Cutlass, and they without Acquainting him for what
purpose they took him then Dragged Deponent out
of his House by the [..] Collar to a [..] Lock up Room
belonging to the said Justice Penleaze, in Spitalfields
where they put a Handkerchief (by way of Hand Cuffs)
on this Deponents hands, and took him away to
Clerkenwell Prison , without endeavoring to Carry him
before a Magistrate to have a hearing, And this Deponent
Lay all the next day (which was Sunday) in the said
prison and so Continued till Monday Morning
And this Deponent Saith he verily believes that at the
time the said Justice Penleazes Officers, so took this
Deponent, on the Saturday night aforesaid, they well
knew that the said Justice was Gone from his Office
and that this Deponent could not then have a hearing,
and therefore they so took this Deponent, at that [..]
late Hour, and an a Saturday night, with Intent to
Extort Money, from him, or if they Could not Do that,
then to Carry this Deponent to Prison by way of
Punishing him, which last purpose they by the unjust
and Oppressive means aforesaid Effected, and Carryed
into Execution, And this Deponent Saith that on the
Monday he was by them fetched from Prison and
Carryed to Justice Penleazes Office in Spitalfields ,
and the Justice then Took his Horse, and rode away
and Ordered Deponent to another Justices [..] and
when he came there this Deponent Saw the said Justice
