Be it Remembred that on this day Claude Jayot< no role >
of the parish of Christ Church Weaver and a House keeper
and Inhabitant there and Elizabeth Hewit< no role > of the said
parish also an Inhabitant there come before me

David Wilmot< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys Justices [..]
of the peace in and for the said County and voluntarily
make Oath And first the said Claude Jayot Saith that
a Dispute having happened between this Deponent and
one John Peter Cazaly< no role > touching the Doing a piece of
Mantua Silk a warrant was Issued against this
Deponent by Justice Penleaze touching the same and
this Deponent Elizabeth Hewit< no role > Saith that on the thirtieth
day of August last (which was of a Saturday) between
Eight and nine o Clock in the Evening five persons
(who this Deponent believes are Justice Penleaze's
Headboroughs , Runners, and Thief takers), Assembled
before the Dwelling House of Claude Jayot in Barbers
Yard Spital fields , Armed with pistols and Cutlasses,
and the wife of the said Claude Jayot coming to the Door
to Deliver an Alehouse Pot, one of them, Sayd Now
Damm your Eyes in with you, Blast you, in with
you, and Mrs. Jayot Shutting her Street Door, and
Standing upon the threshold, one of them Struck
her Several Blows, and thereby beat her to the Ground
and Rolled her in the Mud and Dirt, and while he was
so Doing another of the fellows, went to one of the windows
and attempted to open the Sash, which he could not get
open, and then one of them, went to the other window
which was fastened, and the Window Shutter Bolted
which he wrenched open, and broke the Bolt, and not
being able to get in, they forced themselves in at the
Street Door armed with Pistols and Cutlasses, [..]
And this Deponent Claude Jayot Saith that he was
below in his Kitchen when the said persons entred his
House so Armed (one of whom was Henry Britt< no role > a
white Chapple Court Officer and belonging to Justice
