MIDDLESEX .


At the Gerneral Quarter- Session of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , at Hicks - Hall , in Saint John - Street ,
(by adjournment) on Thursday the seventeenth
Day of October - in the Sixteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE The Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc . Before Sue John Hawkins< no role > Knight
David Wilmot< no role > David Walker< no role > John Sherwood< no role > Esquire
and others there Fellows Justices of our said Lord the
King assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid
and also to hear and determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other misdemeanour committed in the
same County

Whereas The Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish
of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex Did at the last General
Session of the Peace held for this County Exhibit their Petition and
Appeal setting forth That by Virtue of an Order or Pass Warrant under
the Hands and Seals of David Wilmot< no role > and Samuel Wood< no role > Esquires
two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County of
Middlesex (one where of being of the Quorum) bearing date the 23d day
of August 1776 Catherine Warren Hodgkinson< no role > was removed from
the parish of Saint John at Hackney in the said County of Middlesex
to the parish of Saint Luke as the place of her last legal Settlement Whereby
the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved which said Appeal stood
duly adjourned unto this day Whereupon the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the parish of Saint Luke being Solemnly called
to support their Appeal but not appearing It is ordered that the said
Appeal be ad the same is hereby dismissed and the said Order of
the said two Justices is hereby confirmed and It is further ordered
that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of
Saint Luke do maintain and provide for the said Catharine
Warren Hodghinson until they can free themselves from the
Charge thereof by due course of Law
