This Court being informed that the Commissioners for Paving
Westminster have in Contemplation the obtaining an Act of parliamt.
in which they mean to insert a Clause that will divest his Majesty's
Justices of the peace for this County & the City and Liberty of Westminster
of their Interest in the St. James's Haymarket It is ordered that Mr. Eyles
do immediately apply to Edward Barwell< no role > Esqr . of the House of Commons
to desire him to Transmit to Mr. Eyles [..] the Earliest Account of any Accompt
that shall be made in the House of Commons which may affect the said
Haymarket

By adjournment on Thursday the 23d day
of February 1776

Mr Eyles reported that he had in Consequence of an order of this
Court of the 20th. Instant waited upon Mr Barwell of the House of
Commons and had retained him agreeable to the said Order

That Court having received further Information concerning the
intentions of the Commissioners for paving Westminster against the
Justices interest in & Controul over the St. James HaymarketIt is
Ordered that the Committee appointed on the 12th. day of January 1775
do meet on Tuesday the 27th. Instant at Hicks Hall at in Clock in the forenoon
to appose all Attempts in parliament that may affect the Interest of this
County in the St. James Haymarket or deprive the Justices of their Controul
which for the Benefit of theJusticesPublic they have ever the same
and to give such orders as may be necessary to enforce the Laws relative
do meet on Tuesday next the 27th. Instant at Hicks Hall at 11 oClock in the forenoon
thereto and that they do meet and adjourn at pleasure and it is recommended
to them to pursueto takethe speediest and most effectual Methods to from at and secure the interest of
the County in the St. James Haymarket against the present intentions
of the Commissioners for paving Westminster
