Richard Chappell< no role > of little Queen Street in the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields in the County
of Middlesex Painter and Glazier and William Robertson< no role > and John Pugh< no role > both of Great Russell
Street in the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields Gentleman severally make oath And
First this Deponent Richard Chappell< no role > for himself saith that he is one of the present Church
wardens of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields and that on Tuesday the fourteenth day of this Instant
February at the House of William Clarke< no role > situate in Gregorys Court Holborn in the said Parish
of Saint Giles in the Fields (being the same William Clarke< no role > mentioned and described in the
annexed Order) the this Deponent did personally serve the said William Clarke< no role > with a true
Copy of the annexed Order and did then and there information the said William Clarke< no role > of the pur-
port and meaning thereof and did also then and there ask and demand of him the said William
Clarkes the Sum of twenty seven Pounds seven Shillings and seven Pence in the annexed Order directed
to be paid by him the said William Clarke< no role > to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Saint Giles in the Fields and Saint George Bloomsbury and that the said William Clarke< no role > did then
and there refuse to pay the said Sum of twenty seven Pounds seven Shillings and seven pence and declared
he could [..] pay the same And their Diponent further saith that the said Sum of twenty seven
pounds seven shillings and seven Pence hath not yet been paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers
of the poor of the said Parishes of Saint Giles in the Fields and Saint George Bloomsbury or to any or
either of them (as this Deponent verily believes) but that the same and every part thereof is yet
unpaid and these Deponents William Robertson< no role > and John Pugh< no role > severally say that they were
present with the said Richard Chappell< no role > on Tuesday the said fourteenth day of this Instant
February when the said Richard Chappell< no role > did personally serve the said William Clarke< no role > with
a true Copy of the annexed Order [..]
[..] and when the said Richard Chappell< no role > did
make demand of the said sum of twenty seven Pounds seven Shillings and Seven pence in
manner and form and at the time and place herein before setforth and that the said William
Clarke
< no role > did then and then refuse to pay the [..] said Sum of twenty seven Pounds seven Shillings
and seven pence and declared he could not pay the same.
