day of September now last past and yet unexpired And the
said Joseph Wilson< no role > having thereupon at the Meeting so holden
as aforesaid before the said Justices above particularly named
so assembled as aforesaid entered into a recognizance to our
said Lord the King in the Sum of ten pounds with one sufficient
Surety namely William Davy< no role > of the same Parish of Saint
James Clerkenwell Victualler in the sum of ten pounds upon
Condition that the said Joseph Wilson< no role > should Keep the true Assize
in uttering Bread Beer Ale and other Victuals and Liquors in his
said house according to the Tenor Purport and true Meaning of
the said Licence so to him granted and should not have Permit nor
suffer any playing at Cards Dice Tables Bowls or any other unlawful
Game or Games in his House outside Yard Garden or Backside nor
suffer any person to become drunk or remain there tipling or
drinking contrary to Law nor suffer any Disorder to be committed
therein but Should maintain and keep good Order and Rule in the
same according to the Laws of this Realm in that Behalf made
and Provided And Keeping the said common Ale house by Virtue of
the said Licence he the said Joseph Wilson< no role > did not maintain and
Keep good Order and rule in the same but in the said Joseph Wilson< no role >
after entering into the said Recognizance to wit on the twenty third
day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and seventy five did Knowingly suffer playing at a certain unlawful
Game called Shuffle board in his said house by William Stanton< no role > an
Apprentice Richard Cowley< no role > a Servant and other Persons whose
Names are to the said Richard Howard< no role > unknown Whereby in the
Judgment of me the said Justice and I do adjudge the said Recognizance
to entered into as aforesaid may be forfeited and the Condition thereof
broken In Witness whereof I the said Justice have hereunto set my hand
and seal the day and Year first above written
