Thomas Jones< no role > the Defendant above named maketh oath and saith
that this Deponent was Indicted at the Sessions holden at Hicks
Hall in September one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy four
for the County of Middlesex by the Prosecutor for a Nusance in
having taken up the Flag Pavement before a Messuage on Tenement
belonging to this Deponent in Dyot Street in the Parish of Saint
Giles in the Fields in the said County at the time of repairing the
said Messuage or Tenement without an Order or authority from
a Majestrate for so doing as this Deponent was afterwards informed
he ought to have obtained previous to his repairing the said
Premises conformable to a late act of Parliament for that purpose
and this Deponent Saith that he this Deponent did not know that
the opening or breaking up such Pavement without such
Order was contrary to the Direction of any Act of Parliament
and this Deponent Saith that so Soon as this Deponent was
informed of his Error he caused Such Pavement immediately to
be made good again whereby the Nusance complained of in the
said Indictment is Intirely abated and this Deponent Saith that
Soon after the said Pavement was mended and made good as aforesaid
the Prosecutor executed a general Release to this Deponent
