It will bebothexpedient and much for the honor of the
comission of the peaceto [..] both in regard
to the heath& as well as thesafe keepr.
& as ye well ordering of the prisoners therein accord
to the intention ofthedivers Statutesin this respect

of ground and with a greater number of use
ful appartmts. that the present Gaol contains
[..] partly Agreeable to plans layd before usYor conceived by the sd.
with such alterations & improsemts. as may be suggested

on conceived by this Court
That the House of Correction which ad
joins to the said Gaol (and wch your comittee
find was builh [..] taken out of New prison
yard ) [..] does not sufficiently answer the ends of
its institution for the correction and ameadmt.

(Notwithstanding we do not find the order of reference
made in Easter Aessions does not direct our enquiry into ye
state thereof but by mistake of the Clerk such direction is omitted)
