Middlesex


At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the Same County (by Adjournment) on Thursday the Fifth day of
December in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third King of Great Britain & before John Hawkins< no role >
Benjamin Cowley< no role > Bartholomew Hammond< no role > Saunders Welch< no role > Esquires
and others their Felows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned
to Keep the Place of our said Lord the King within the Said Court
and also to hear and Determine Divers Felonies Trespasses and
other Misdemeanors Committed in the Said County.

Whereas Martin Smith< no role > of Great Chelsea in this County Did at
the General Session of the Peace held for this County in the month of September last
Exhibit his Petition settingforth That on Saturday the Thirty First day of
August last the Petitioner was Convicted before Thomas Miller< no role > Esquire one
of His Majesty's Justices of the peace in and for the County of Middlesex in the
Penalty of Five Pounds for having in his Custody Offered and Exposed for
Sale four half peck Loaves of Household Bread at the price of Eleven pence
half penny per loaf and Six Quarter of a Peck loaf of Household Bread of
at the Price of Sixpence per loaf and one Quarter of a peck Loaf of Wheatens
Bread at the Price of seven pence farthing per loaf as not Proportioned in
respect to the Price lack sort of Bread sought to be Sold at according to
the direction of the Statuts in that Case made and Provided Whereby the
Petitioner Concured himself aggrieved which said Pettition Was duly
duly Adjourned until this Day Now the said Petition coming on to be
heard and no one Appearing on behalf of the Informant At the Solemnly
Called And upon reading the Affidavit of

Service of Notice at the last Place of abode It is Ordered that the said
Conviction be and the same is hereby Quartered And It is further Ordered
that Edward Wheston< no role > the Informant do forthwith Pay or Cause to be
Paid to the said Martin Smith< no role > the Sum of Five Pounds for her
Charges and Expences in and about the said Petition
