Jacob Simons< no role > and Abraham Simons< no role > of Gravel Lane
Houndsditch London Dealers the above Defts. & Levy Samuel< no role > of
Houndsditch London Merchant Severally make Oath as fellows
& first these Deponents Jacob Simons and Abraham Simons< no role > Say that
Lyon [..] Myer of the same place Merchant is a Material Witness
for these Deponents in the above Prosecution & without whose
Testimony these Deponents cannot Safely proceed to the Tryal of this
Indictment And these Deponents further Say that on or about
the 27th, day of August lost they made Diligent Enquiry after the
said Lyon Myer at his place of Abode in Gravel Lane aforesaid
and there used their Atmost Endeavours to procure the said Lyon
Myer to Attend & give Evidence for these Deponents upon the
Tryal of the above Indictments, at this present Sessions & these
Deponents were there informed by his Landlady as he has been
since by several of the Friend & Acqaintances of the said Lyon
Myer that the said Lyon Myer went Abroad into foreign Parts abot.
three Weeks age & that he is now in foreign parts to wit at
Amsterdam in Holland & is expected in London in about three
Weeks & which information these Deponents Verily beleive to be true
And these Deponents further Say if this Honorable Court will
be pleased to put off the said Tryal untill the next October
Sessions they these Deponents will Endeavour to procure
Aim by that time which they Verily belive they shall
to able to do, And this Deponent Levy Samuel< no role > for
himself Saith that he did on Wednesday the fourth. day of
September Instant serve a true Copy of the Notice
hereunto Annexed by Delivering the same to the Maid
