To all to whom these Presents shall Come We John Winstanley< no role > and Francis
Sutton
< no role > Overseersof the Poor of the Parish of Saint
Mary Le bone in the County of Middlesex send Greeting Whereas James Campling< no role > This name instance is in set 2116. of the
Parish of Saint Mary Le bone in the County of Middlesex Gentleman, Hath requested and
desired of us to accept and take the Sum of Thirteen Pounds
for the use of the Poor of our said Parish of Saint Mary Le bone in him and stead of
Security to indemnify and save harmless our said Parish of and from a Female Bastard
Child begotten of the Body of Margaret Abbott otherwise Tinker and baptized Sarah which
Child was born in our said Parish and of which she has charged him the said James
Campling to be the real Father. And that we the said John Winstanley< no role > and Francis Sutton< no role >
upon the charge and maintenance of our said Parish
will put the said Female Bastard Child Now these Presents Witness That we the
said John Winstanley< no role > and Francis Sutton< no role > for and in
Consideration of the Sum of Thirteen Poundsof Lawful Money of
Great Britain to us in Hand paid by the said [..] Company [..]
for the use of the Poor of our said Parish at his the said
James Campling his own earnest request and desire the receipt whereof We Do hereby acknowledge
and ourselves therewith fully satisfied contented and paid Have Covenanted Undertaken and Agreed
and by these Presents Do Covenant Undertake and Agree for ourselves and our Successors to take and
put the said Female Bastard Child begotten of the Body of the said Margaret abbott otherwise
Tinker upon the [..] charge and maintenance of our said Parish and Provide for the same in
such manner as the said James Campling shall not at any time hereafter be charged Molested
or disturbed in any wise by us the said John Winstanley< no role > and Francis Sutton< no role >
our Partners or Successors or any or either of them for upon touching or concerning the
Maintenance or Provision of the said Female Bastard Child baptized Sarah as aforesaid In
Witness whereof We have hereunto set our Hands and Seals this ThirteenthDay of
May 1771
