At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County (by Adjournment) on Thursday the Seventh day of
July in the Eight year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third King of Great Britain Etc.

Whereas John Ridge< no role > Hath at this Present Session Exhibited his Petition
Setting forth That by the consent of his Father John Ridge< no role > of Taunton in the
County of Somerset Timber Merchant was bound as an Apprentice to Henry
Thompson William Thomas< no role > of Saint Mary Lebone in the County of
Middlesex Cabinet makers Joiners and House builders to serve them after the
manner of an Apprentice from the first day of June 1766 unto the full
end and Term of Seven years, that the Sum of Twenty one pounds was
given as an Apprentice Fee with the Petitioner, that the said William
Thomas some time in or about the Month of April last Absconded and left
his business and hath not since been heard of, that about the Twentieth of
April last Henry Thompson< no role > was Arrested for Debt and had continued a
Prisoner in the Kings Bench ever since that time That the Business of the
Petitioners and Masters had since that time and now is Totally discontinued
And thereby praying that his said Masters might be Ordered to return all
or some part of the Money so given with the Petitioner and that he might
be discharged from his sald Apprenticeship Whereupon by the consent of
Council on either side It is Ordered that the said Petition be and the same
is hereby Adjourned until the next GeneralQuarterSession of the Peace to.
be held for this County And that on Notice hereof to be given to the said
parties in the mean time they and all Persons concerned Do Attend the
Court at Hicks Hall aforesaid on Monday the Fifth day of September
next at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon of the same day to hear and
abide the Judgment and determination of the Court touching the said
Petition
