Edward Haynes< no role > of Old Street Sawyer Saith he was sitting
on a Piece of Timber last Tuesday when the Child was run over
That One of Mr. Scotts Brick Carts was going along Empty
near the Meeting House in Mile End new Town
That the Deceased was Crossing the way and had Passed the
Fore Horse and the Second Horse Beat the Child down
That there were three Horses in the Cart and they were
going on as fast as they could Walk But did not Fot at all
That the Middle Horse run a little out of the Track [..]
and by that means Fit the Child
That the Driver was standing up in the Cart but had no
Whip or Stick in his HandThat he Believes the
Driver to be about five feet Six Inches high But whether he
saw or could see the Child Informant Knows not
He waived his Hand (as Informant thinks to Keep the shaft Horse from running
[..] the Child
That Informant was about thirty Yards from the Cart and
was so frightend he did not Call to the Driver and did not
hear any One Call to himThat the Driver
kept going on But turn'd his Head when he had got about
Eight or Ten Yards from the ChildThat Informant
Stop'd the Horses And they were then upon a Trot
And the Driver Said Informant must not Stop him or
his Horses and did not say any thing on are as Informant
heard And then Informant Left him in the Hands of
some Other PersonsHath Heard he is now in
Clerkenwell Bridewell But does not know his Name
