Middlesex to wit


The Information of Ann< no role > the Wife of John
Manning
< no role > of the Red Lion Islington Road
taken before me this 7th. day of August 1767

Who being on Oath says that on Wednesday last upwards of
twenty five pounds were stolen out of her House near Islington
says that about 7 o'clock in the Evening she went into her
Bed Chamber to look after a pair of Silver Tea Tongs
saya that she found them in the Drawer & that at that
Time the aforesaid Money was there says as she returned
down Stairs she metthetwo persons now present who call
themselves Richard Thomas< no role > and William Edwards< no role > coming
up stairs, says that they desired her to being them six
pennyworth of Brandy and Water, says that she carried it
up to them into a Room up one pair of Stairs which has
a Bow Window in it, says that were then in the said
Room Mr. Brooke and Mr. Marsh two Printers, says that there
is a Door in the said Room which opens into this Informants
Bed Chamber from whence the Money was taken, says that
the said Brooke & the said Marsh went away about half an
hour before the said Edwards and Thomas, says that said
Edwards and said Thomas went from her house about half an
hour after eight o'Clock, says that when the said Edwards &
Thomas
< no role > went away Thomas paid the Reckoning, say's that
as the said Thomas seemed greatly confused shesumsent
her Servant to see if any thing was taken away for as she
thought a Silver Spoon had been left in the Bason but she
afterwards found it in her Pocket, says that no Company
went into till she Room after the said Edwards and Thomas
were gone 'till she missed her said Money, says that she has
Cause to suspect [..] and does suspect and verily believe that the
said Edwards and Thomas were the Persons [..] who
stole the said Money
