Weaver taken before me this 15th. day of July 1767

Who being upon Oath says that on the 4th. day of December last a Person now
present who calls himself James Penticost< no role > , published to this Informant as true
Promissory Now for the Payment of Money now produced purporting to be the
Promissory Note of George Bowes< no role > payable to William Newcomen< no role > Esqr . or Order
for the Sum of Twenty two pounds ten Shillings and six pence with the Name Sr.

Charles Asgill< no role > This name instance is in set 43654365. & Co
Bankers Lombard Street }
Printed upon the said Note which was also Indorsed
wtih the Same Wm. Newcomen, and this Informant farther Saith that he verily
believes the said Promissory Note to he falsely made, forged and Counterfeiled
and that it was uttered and Published by the said James Penticost< no role > , knowing
it to be so with Intent to Cheat and Defraud this Informant
