At the General Sessions of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the King held at the Guild Hall
in and for the said Borough on the Eighth day of May in the Seventh Year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Grat Britain and so forth before Edward
Linzee

assigned to keep the Peace of our said Lord the King within the said Borough Etc

His Majestys Justices of the Peace present at this General Sessions by Virtue of an Act of Parliament
entitled An Act for the better repairing and amending the Highways and for settling the Rates for
Carriage of Goods, Do assess and rate the Prices of all Land Carriage of Goods whatsoever to be
carried and brought to and from London Southwark or elsewhere late any Parts of the Liberty of
the said Borough in manner following, that is to say, from the day of the date here of until
Michaelmas next for every Hundred Weight of all weighable Goods containing One Hundred and
Twelve Pounds to the Hundred, to the Carrier for the same for every Twenty Miles One Shilling Etc
Four Pence and to proper honably for a greater or lesser Quantity not under a Quarter of a Hundred
Weight; and from Michaclmas next to the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
which shall be in the Year of our Lord 1768 for every Hundred Weight of all weighable Goods
containing One Hundred and Twelve Pounds to the Hundred, to the Carrier for the same for every
Twenty Miles One Shilling & Eight Pence and so proportionally for any greater or lesser Quantity
not under a Quarter of a Hundred Weight; And the Clerk of the Peace of the said Borough is
hereby required to make this Order publickly known

I George Huish Clerk of the Peace for the said Borough do in Obediea [..] to an Act of
Parliament passed in the Twenty First Year of the Reign of King George the Second hereby
certify to the Clerk of the Peace for the County of Middlesex that the above is a true Copy of a
Rate and Assessment made for the Carriage of Goods at the last Easter Sessions held in & for
the said Borough in Pursuance of an Act of Parliament of the third Year of the Reign of King
William & Queen Mary Witness my Hand the Thirteenth day of May 1767.
