in the said County (by Adjournment) on Friday-the Third
day of May 1764 in the Fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third King of Great Britain Etc
Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Hampstead
in the County of Middlesex
Have Exhibited their Petition and Appeal to this Court
Setingforth That by Virtue of an Order or pass Warrant under the hands and
Seals of Philip Dyot< no role >
and Stephen Clerke< no role >
Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of
the peace
for the said County (one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date
the 16th. day of April last Ann Evans< no role >
Widow of Thomas Evans< no role >
deceased and her
two Children Vizt. Elizabeth< no role >
aged almost Seven years and Ann< no role >
aged about three
years and half were removed and Conveyed from the Parish of St. Giles in the
Fields
in the said County to the said Parish of Hampstead
as the place of their
last legal settlement Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves to be aggrieved
Whereupon at the request of the said Petitioners It is Ordered that the benefit
of their said Appeal be saved unto them and that the hearing and Determining
thereof be and the same is hereby Adjourned until the next General Session of
the Peace to be holden for this County and that the Church Wardens and Overseers
of the poor of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields
on Notice hereof to be given
to them in the mean time and all other Persons concerned do Attend the Court at Hicks
Hall aforesaid on Thursday the Seventh day of June next by Nine of the Clock in the
Forenoon (at which time and place the said Session will be holden by Adjournment
as it is Expected) to hear and abide the Judgment and Determination of the said
Court touching the said Appeal.
