in Consequence of that Order said there
had been Objections to it by reason of its ill
Tendency in some Particulars and believes
Remonstrances have been made to the
Court at the Old Baily and to the Judges
either to [..] Reseind or relax the
Order and bels it has been dispensed with
Occasionally so far as to the time and so long as
the Grand Jury have been sitting and the-
Instances are frequent that Prisrs. are kept
back. Being asked what was the reason for
dispensing with the Order he said That where
there is a number of Prisrs. the Indictmts.
Could not be Prepared and get ready Being
Asked whether it does not generally happen
that all the Indictmts. are Prepared and
ready for the Grand Jury to Present to the
Judges he said there are two Clerks of
Indictment at Hicks's Hall who attend the

Session of Peace of Oyer and Terminer which begins
the 2d. day at the Old Baily Sessions & the Practice
is to forward the Felony Bills as fast as bespoke giving
the Preference of Misdemeanor Bills and such Felony
Bills when returned into Court are sent to the Old Baily
as soon as the Sessions opens or else the preceeding
day to the Officer who attends that Court that the
Sessions of the peace Dyer and Terminer Continue Sitting
during the Gaol Delivery and the Jury return
the Bills into Court as they find them two or three
times a day-That the Prosecutors Come one
after another all the while of the Sessions that some
Wilfully & others some Carelessly have delayd their Attendance which he bees. was the
Occasion of that Orderandbut unless the Court
Waits for Business no Notice is taken of it
butwhen Business is Slack the Order is inforced
That the Grand Jury sit as long as any
Felony Bills are brought and the Misdemeanors
Bills brought late are sometimes defer'd till the next Sessiondelayed& the
