Taken before
me this 13th. day of Octr. 1761
Who being on Oath says that on Saturday Night last
he was at the House of Jas. Scott< no role >
at the Black Lyon
in Russell Street Covent Garden
says that between the
hours of 10 and 11 he was called from the said House to the
Ben: Johnson's head
in the same Street, says that he went
there accordingly, says that when he came there he saw
an Affray, that he saw a Person now present who
calls himself Dane fighting with a Stick which
lost, that he the said Dane then went up several Stairs
and was pursed by one Davis that said Dane seized
the said Davis by the Collar with his right hand and
flourished his drawn Sword in his left declaring
that he wou'd run the first Man thro' that shou'd
advance towards him, says that Davis soon afterwards
released himself and run out of door and this
Informt. after him, says that presently after
this the Deceased Elisha Hannah< no role >
knockt at the
door and was admitted, and that he had then no
Weapon in his hand, that in a few Minutes he returned
crying out he was Wounded, he was a Dead Man
says he was then carried back to Mr. Scotts
