George Key< no role > of St.MartinsPaul Covent Garden Surgeon on his Oath says
that about 5 o'Clock in the afternoon on Sunday the 10th.
day of May instant Deponent saw Capt, Jasper the
deced, and ask'd him if there had been any foul Play
in the affair, Deced answered, No, not at all, Deponent
then ask'd deced if he loaded his own Pistol, he answd.
Yes, he did, Deponent then ask'd him if Mr. Brice loaded
his own Pistol, he answered yes, he did Depont. then ask'd
him if they had measured distances and agreed upon the
Ground, he said they did not, Depont. then ask'd him
if he presented his Pistol at Mr. Brice, he said he did
Depont. then ask'd him if Mr. Brice had Presented at
him, he answered they both Presented and levelled, Depont.
then said Mr. Brice I presume then fired first & wounded
you, he said, he did Depont. then said, If he had not,
you would have fired Capt. Jaspar, he said, certainly
Depont then said, Why then it was all fair was it, he
answered all very fair.
