Most Gracious Sovereign
Wee your Majesty's most faithfull and loyal Subjects after our
hearty Congratulations on the many great and Wonderfull Successes
which by the Favour of Providence have Attended your Majesty's
Arms during the late just and necessary War in the Course of which
The Conduct and Behaviour of your Majesty's Forces by Sea and Land
have gained lasting Honour Beg leave with Hearts full of Gratitude
to return our most sincere Thanks and humble Acknowledgements
to your Majesty for the happy Determination of it by a seasonable
safe and advantagious peace
Your Majesty has hereby given a signal proof of Humanity and
Universal Benevolence undisputed Marks of true greatness of Soul
To render this great Blessing most extensively beneficial and to
maintain a regular due Obedience to the Laws the true
foundation of our Liberties is our indispensible Duty and shall
be the Object of our unwearied Vigilance and Attention
As Magistrates bound in Duty and Conscience to preserve the
peace, and as loyal Subjects bound by every Tye of Duty Affection
and respect to the best of Sovereigns who in Publick life is the
great Patron of Religion and Liberty and in Private life the
bright example of true Virtue, We cannot Omit this Occasion
of expressing our abhorrence of all Attempts to insult the dignity
of your Person and shade the lustre of your Throne, Assuring
your Majesty of our Zealous endeavours to Support your Majesty's
Authority upon the true Principles of Liberty and to suppress
all daring and Wicked Attempts to disturb that Union which
We trust will be one great Characteristic of your Majesty's
Reign
May your Majesty long continue to reign over us Honoured
and beloved by your Subjects Esteemed feared by your Enemies a
